Coronavirus Update

What to expect from your appointment at the surgery

You must not attend your appointment;

If you have a high temperature, a new cough, or have recently lost your sense of taste and smell. Please let us know you will not be attending and please arrange for a COVID test urgently online or by phone. Your appointment can be safely arranged later.

You will be directed to wash and sanitize your hands on arrival and departure from the surgery. This is to protect you and your family from contamination travelling to and from the surgery. We do expect you to wear a face covering on entering the building. If you are unable to wear a face covering for any reason, you will be asked to wait outside the surgery until the doctor calls for you.  This is to protect you, our staff and other patients who may be vulnerable within the building.

Do not arrive too early for your appointment we need to minimise the time you spend in the waiting room. This will reduce the time you may be sitting with ill patients. If you arrive too early, you may be asked to wait outside as we must limit the numbers in the building. Where possible, you should attend the surgery alone.

To limit exposure we will aim to see you swiftly and so will not be overly chatty. We are delighted to have you attend and do not want to appear rude, but it will reduce the time you are both exposed to each other. Your appointment will be brief and focus on the examination or the procedure you are attending for.

Follow up questions and advice can be arranged via telephone or a near me video consultation. This will feel very different from previous visits to the surgery before COVID19. We want all of our patients to feel as safe as possible, By working together we can minimise the risk for everyone.

Thank you.
